Biography: Heather and Joseph Lathan always wanted to have children. When Heather received the news that she could not get pregnant, it killed her beyond the telling. She removed herself from the world and of all medications...including her birth control. One chilly evening, the couple had gotten enough wine to quench Dionysus' thirst. Nine months later, Cassidy Lathan was born. She was deemed as their miracle baby. As the child got older, the Lathan family became good friends with their neighbors across the street, the Donnellys.

As Cassidy grew up, she was not the prettiest of girls nor did she hang out with that many girls. She would hang out with the Donnelly kids, especially Preston. They developed a friendship at a young age. When her parents went on their business trips as they often did, Cass would be dropped off at the Donnelly house. Before Prunella was born Cassidy was the daughter Patrice always wanted. As she grew up, the brunette grew into her body and by the time high school came, she was not your average girl...she was now the cliche swan. Her outside changed but her personality was still the same: bold, blunt and brutally honest.

When high school did come around, she joined the cheerleading team but not for the normal reasons. She wanted to spend more time with Preston. Unlike others, she does not call him Manny. She never really adopted that nickname for him. People always thought that something was going on between them since they were always around eachother. And they were right...well sorta. During a time where Preston was going through a rebellion phase in his life, he would sneak over to her house and stay over until the wee hours of the morning. She could not complain since she did care a lot about him. The romantic side of their relationship had ended but she did not stop caring for him. When he was injured, she did not leave his side when he was in the hospital.

Once graduation was over, she had to make a choice. Should she stay in San Fransisco or move away to go to a better school? She decided to pack her things and explore what was else outside of California. Some would think she was running away from her problems with Preston but deep down, she had to know what else was in the world. Not going very far, she went to Seattle University for a degree in Criminal Justice/Criminal Investigation. The more she did classes for it, the more she fell inlove with the field. After four years in school, she thought that her life was set. Working for three years at Seattle Police Station, she never thought she would hear the news of her mother getting cancer. So she moved back to San Fransisco to help her father out.

Now that she is back, she managed to get a job at SFPD. Sure it is just a desk job but Cassidy is working her way through the precinct. Not only does she have to worry about her job, she has to mend the friendship between her and Preston since they did not end with the best of terms when she left.
